Oh what a beautiful city and what beautiful people! We go to go to the downtown core 2 times so far and wow such stunning architecture! I can see why they call Buenos Aires the Europe or South America, as a lot of the buildings are heavily influenced by European architecture. The streets are massive here and the traffic holy crap I have never seen so many cars and lanes of traffic in my life, and yet so far I have seen no accidents at all (With exception of the Train that collided with another train due to the lights not working cause someone stole the cable from the lights). The city is very clean, I mean it’s cleaner than downtown Vancouver which really surprised me. There are kiosks everywhere you look as well., the parks and monuments are also incredible. The transit system here is crazy as well but when you think of a city of over 15 million people it makes sense why they need the transit they do. We took the train downtown and it was really easy to get around with. They do have Uber here and well it’s really cheap as well (Distance of say Langley to the Downtown Core of Vancouver cost us $20 Canadian). The district of Florida was beautiful with its narrow streets and really unique stores. We bought 2 leather jackets and a pair of beautiful leather boots for Karyn and it came out to less than $380 US which is really cheap. We also went to one of the biggest book store in the world that is in an old theater. The architecture and paintings were incredible and such a huge selection of books. Brian (My Son) bought a book on poetry and another book that he’s going to transcribe into English so he can learn Spanish faster. We walked around a lot and got to see this beautiful park that has a massive rose garden (It’s fall here so not many roses) and a very beautiful Banyan tree which was something incredible to see with it’s roots system. We took in the views while drinking Matte and having little Argentine Biscuits. Once we walked around a while we decided it was time for Lunch. So we stopped into a nice little cafe to enjoy an nice Milanesa Napolitana (Milanesa is like a schnitzel but made of beef instead of pork). This plate was shared by My Son, My Cousin Javier and myself, there was still half of the order left after we finished eating (We gave the leftovers to a person that was asking for money). The portions are huge here and wow do they ever eat a lot of meat here! I am dying for a good cup of coffee and a salad 😉 Once we finished our late lunch we walked around a bit more and got to see Las Casa Rosa (The Pink House where the president works from) and we went to go see El Puente de Mujeres (The Woman’s Bridge). At that point we decided to go back to the train station as Boca Jr’s were playing for a cup so we headed back (I almost got run down by a motorcade of some sort). We ended back at my Tia Lucia’s place and had a late dinner and we called it a night at about 1 am. I still can’t get over how gracious , warm and inviting everyone is here. It’s not an absolutely poor country by any means, its been robbed by the government which is unfortunate. They people are always happy here and they are happy with what they have (Family, and Food). It’s really a beautiful Culture. This country and city has really captured my heart again, I feel like I am home!
